We are a team of researchers and artists exploring women’s experiences of ageing, society and technology through creative methods. We want to challenge dominant discourses around ageing with technology and stereotypes about older women.
We are recruiting a group of women* over the age of 60 to join us in a series of 6 workshops in Graz. During the workshops we will use a range of creative approaches (from making collages to punk vocals!) to explore their experiences of ageing and their ideas about the future. The workshop theme of monsters will help us to think in imaginative and unusual ways about ageing, vulnerability and technology. Collectively, we aim to develop ways of imagining alternative futures that are centred on care and community, equity and inclusion.
The results of our project will be presented in a public exhibition as well as through talks, publications and a symposium in Graz. This project will also be the basis for a funding application for an even bigger project on this topic in the future.
